Editorial Standards

Some Movie News is committed to accurate, fair, and independent journalism. These standards govern how we research, write, and publish.

Accuracy and Fact-Checking

Every article published by Some Movie News is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication. We verify claims against primary sources: official studio announcements, Academy records, box office databases, and direct statements from individuals or their authorized representatives.

Statistical claims (box office figures, nomination counts, historical records) are cross-referenced against at least two independent sources. Dates, names, and credits are verified against official databases including IMDb Pro, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and studio press materials.

Source Attribution

We attribute information to its source. When reporting on industry developments, we cite the original reporting outlet. When presenting analysis, we distinguish between reported facts and editorial interpretation.

We do not present others' original reporting as our own. When our reporting builds on work by other publications, we credit them.

Corrections Policy

When we make a factual error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with a description of what was changed and when. We do not silently alter published content.

To report an error or request a correction, contact justin@someideas.co with the article URL and the nature of the error.

Editorial Independence

Some Movie News does not accept sponsored content, paid placements, or advertising revenue. Our editorial decisions are not influenced by studios, publicists, distributors, or any external commercial interest.

We do not accept gifts, travel, or hospitality from subjects of our coverage that could compromise editorial independence. We do not run affiliate links.

Conflicts of Interest

When a writer or editor has a personal or professional connection to the subject of an article, that relationship is disclosed. We do not publish coverage of subjects where a conflict of interest cannot be adequately managed through disclosure.

Editorial Mission

We cover the film industry with the precision and restraint it deserves. Our goal is to surface what matters. The work, the people, the decisions. Without inflating it with hype or reducing it to content. Every article we publish should leave the reader knowing something specific that they did not know before.
